Job Description: Matrikon Asia-Pacific is rapidly expanding and we are experiencing considerable growth in our operations across Australia.With several large-scale projects already in hand, we are currently looking for an energetic individual to join our Industrial Information Solutions team in Brisbane.The candidate must be able to work in an ever changing paced environment as they implement, verify and support information systems for major multi-national organisations. Working closely with a small team of like minded and similarly skilled engineers, the Senior Systems Software Engineer/Analyst will play a lead role in the implementation of information systems projects from requirements analysis through to installation and commissioning. They may also be called upon to provide specialist support in configuring, analysing and troubleshoot customer’s issues. Additional responsibilities may include: Technical direction, leadership and training to junior members of the team. Consulting and software development services to our clients Design of solution architectures for software integration and development projects Work on installation or major software projects as resources are needed Providing accurate and timely communications on issue progress, technical aspects and critical issues to project managers Involved in the quality assurance of solutions provided and subsequent testing of these systems Involved in product training (internal and of customers) To be successful in this role you will have: Experience in, or the desire to, providing technical team leadership Good interpersonal and team skills Strong problem solving skills Good verbal and written communication skills Comfort dealing with multiple and varied assignments A quality oriented approach, thorough and logical Windows 2000/2003 Server, and Windows XP configuration experience Expertise in relational databases, especially SQL Server 2005 Experience with documenting technical support procedures Results oriented, self-starter who has the ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrable understanding of, and adherence to, formal information systems implementation or software development methodologies. In addition to the above the following will be highly regarded: Domain knowledge in industrial information systems, especially mining and mineral processing Experience in a full project life cycle for at least one information systems project Experience with data integration to process control and automation systems such as PLC, SCADA and DCS systems Experience with data historians such as OSISoft PI or Aspentech IP.21 Experience with OPC technology Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar Experience in MS Reporting Services, Crystal Reports Experience in MS Sharepoint, MS Silverlight Experience with presenting technical training courses Demonstrated high level of technical skill in some of the following

With several large-scale projects already in hand, we are currently looking for an energetic individual to join our Industrial Information Solutions team, initially in Brisbane, then to take up an exciting 12 month challenge in Matrikon’s India office. This would be an ideal opportunity for an Engineering or Information Technology Degree qualified professional to support our initiatives and fulfil the role of Senior Systems Engineer for Brisbane Projects’ Technical Support Group. The role requires an initial period of 6 months working with one of our Brisbane projects, after which the successful applicant would relocate to India for a minimum 12 month placement. More information relating to the placement in India is as follows: The initial requirement is for a 12 month placement, after which time the successful applicant would return to work with Matrikon in Australia, or possibly continue with the role in India. A longer term role is possible Dependent on the success of the initiative and the desire of the applicant to continue in the position. An attractive and appropriate ‘ex-patriot’ style package would be offered. You would be reporting directly to Matrikon India’s Operation’s Manager in our already established Indian office. General characteristics: The successful applicant must be: A results-oriented, self-starter, able to work in an ever changing and fast-paced environment as they implement, verify and support information systems; Able to work closely with a small team of like minded and similarly skilled engineers and IT professionals; Able to assist the Operations Manager in developing growth strategies and in managing resourcing requirements. Technical characteristics: The predominating technical requirement is a strong understanding of SQL-based relational databases, associated architectural structures, their reporting and presentation capabilities, and software methods and supporting technologies. The person must be sufficiently technically skilled in systems implementations (founded on a C# – SQL – T-SQL .NET software framework) to manage and where appropriate, participate in the technical team’s fault analysis, resolution, development, QA and delivery process. Matrikon from time to time has positions available and projects requiring resources throughout its office locations in Australia including Newcastle, Perth, Brisbane, Gladstone, Townsville and Mackay. Matrikon also has offices around the world including in Canada, USA, UK, Germany and India.
